Where you are today
Holding you back
Questions typed from scratch
Teachers write every worksheet and class test by hand, often late in the evening, and the same questions come round year after year.
Pain point
Mostly recall questions
Under time pressure most questions test memory, and nobody can say how many ask a student to apply or analyse.
Pain point
One version for every section
9A sits the test on Monday and tells 9B the answers by lunch, because there is no time to write a second set.
Pain point
Rubrics that live in one head
Long answers are marked against criteria the teacher remembers, so two teachers mark the same answer differently.
Pain point
- HoursWriting one set of practice questions
- 1Version of a test for every section
- RarelyQuestions checked for thinking level
Your institution, transformed
Everything connected
A full draft from your material
Questions are drafted from the chapter or notes you choose, so they cover what was actually taught.
Solved
The mix of levels you ask for
Request a balance of recall, application and analysis, and each question shows the level it was written for.
Solved
Parallel versions for each section
Equivalent sets with different questions and shuffled options, so a quiz can run across sections on different days.
Solved
Rubrics written before marking
Short and long answers come with criteria and marks for each level, which teachers adjust before publishing.

Questions drafted from what you taught
Choose a chapter, lecture notes or the syllabus already in iVake, or upload a document. The builder drafts questions in the formats you ask for, from that material rather than from general knowledge.
- Multiple choice, true or false, fill in the blanks, short and long answers
- Four options on each multiple-choice question, with believable distractors
- Time limit, marks per question and number of questions set by the teacher
Bloom’s levels and rubrics, written down
Each question carries the thinking level it was written for, and long answers arrive with a rubric. Teachers and heads of department can see the balance of a paper before it is set.
- Every question tagged to a Bloom’s level, matching the mix you asked for
- Rubrics with criteria and marks for each level on short and long answers
- Edit, replace or reject any question, with the original draft kept
Parallel versions, kept apart from marks
Draft equivalent versions of a quiz for different sections, with questions and options shuffled. Practice attempts help students revise and stay out of the grade book; marks come only through your normal internal assessment.
- Equivalent versions with different questions for each section or day
- Question and option order shuffled for each student
- Approved questions saved to the department’s bank for later terms

Frequently asked questions
Get answers to common questions about the quiz builder
How many questions can it draft at once?
Enough for a full practice quiz on a chapter in one go, and more in further batches that can be combined. The limit worth planning around is review time, because every question should be read by a teacher before a student sees it.
Can it draft questions from an uploaded document or our notes?
Yes. Choose a chapter or syllabus already in iVake, paste in text or upload a document, and the questions are drafted from that material.
Can it produce several versions of the same quiz?
Yes. It drafts equivalent versions with different questions and shuffled options, so the same practice quiz can run across sections or on different days.
Are the drafted questions accurate?
Usually, but not always, which is why nothing is published without a teacher’s review. Answer keys, distractors and rubrics should be checked like any question written by a colleague.
Do these quizzes affect students’ marks?
Not on their own. Practice attempts are kept apart from the grade book. If a teacher wants an assessment to count, it goes through your normal internal assessment process, with its weighting and lock date.
Can we control the difficulty?
Yes. Ask for a mix of Bloom’s levels, choose the formats and marks per question, and set a time limit. Each drafted question shows the level it was written for.
Which AI model does it use, and is our material shared?
Your course material and questions are processed to answer the request in front of them and nothing else. They are not used to train any model, and every third party that handles your data is named on the sub-processor list.
Can a department share one question bank?
Yes. Approved questions are saved by subject, chapter and level, and shared with the teachers your access settings allow, so a good question outlasts the term it was written in.
