See what live classroom changes at your institution
Before vs. after adding live classroom to iVake
Where you are today
Holding you back
Join lists matched by hand
After an online class, the teacher downloads the participant list and matches names like ‘Guest 4’ to roll numbers.
Pain point
Teaching hours nobody can prove
The university or a peer team asks how many hours were taught online, and the only record is each teacher’s meeting history.
Pain point
Present, but not taking part
A student joins, turns off the camera and microphone, and collects attendance for an hour without taking part once.
Pain point
Links lost in class groups
Meeting links are posted in WhatsApp groups every week, and half the class ends up in last week’s link.

Your institution, transformed
Everything connected
Attendance from who joined
Joining with the institutional login marks the student present, with the join time and time present on the record.
Solved
Hours on record
Every session is logged against the timetable, so online teaching hours are a report, not a reconstruction.
Solved
Participation you can see
Polls and quick quizzes during class show who is taking part, and the scores go to the grade book.
Solved
One place to join
Students join from today’s timetable in the app, so there is no link to hunt for.

Attendance that records itself when students join
No more matching participant lists to class rosters after every lesson. When a student joins with their institutional account, the session writes their attendance, join time and time present to the same register as classroom attendance.
- Present, late or left early, worked out from join and leave times
- Time present totalled into teaching hours for the university or NAAC
- The same register and shortage threshold as classroom attendance
Launch from the timetable, not a link in a group
Teachers start the class from today’s timetable, and students join from the same timetable in their app. When a period is substituted or moved, the online session moves with it.
- An online session set up for each timetabled period, with the provider you choose
- Substitutions and period changes carried to the online session
- Reading, slides or a warm-up quiz attached before the class starts
In-class activity that reaches the grade book
Polls and quick quizzes run during a live class should not stay inside the video tool. Scores and responses land in the grade book and on the student record without anyone typing them in again.
- Quizzes drawn from the question bank used for internal assessment
- Scores entered in the grade book against the class and the date
- Session recordings kept with the course for students who missed it

Frequently asked questions
Get answers to common questions about live classroom
What is live classroom in iVake?
It connects online classes to the records you already keep. A class scheduled in the timetable gets an online session, attendance comes from who joined, and scores and recordings stay with the course and the student.
How does it connect to attendance, the grade book and the timetable?
It uses the same student record. Online attendance lands in the same register as classroom attendance, with the same shortage threshold; quiz scores go to the grade book; and substitutions made in the timetable carry to the online session.
Which video platforms does it work with?
Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, which iVake already connects to, and Zoom. Use whichever your institution already has; attendance and scores reach the record the same way.
Can it be set up to match how our institution teaches?
Yes. Which periods run online, how late counts as late, how much of a class counts as present and who may start a session are settings, not custom code.
How do students join without a link?
They open today’s timetable in the app and join the period that is live. Teachers start the class from the same timetable, so there is no link to post in a WhatsApp group.
Can we show online teaching hours to the university or NAAC?
Yes. Each session is logged with its date, duration, teacher and attendance, so hours taught online are totalled from the records rather than rebuilt from meeting histories.
Does it work alongside Moodle or Google Classroom?
Yes. iVake connects to Moodle and Google Classroom for course content and assignments, while the student record, attendance and marks stay in iVake.
What support is available?
A named implementation manager through go-live, role-by-role training that is recorded for anyone who missed it, and support during admission and examination season. Support tickets are never charged, however many you raise.
