Best education ERP for DigiLocker documents
DigiLocker is where an Indian institution's documents are increasingly expected to arrive and leave — marks, certificates, TCs. Nine other products checked on 18 September 2026: one names it, as an integration beside Aadhaar. Here is the one that does the full loop, in and out.

DigiLocker does two jobs for an institution. Inbound, a family pulls a marksheet or certificate straight from the issuer instead of uploading a photograph of a photograph. Outbound, the documents you issue — a transfer certificate, a transcript, a migration certificate — are pulled by the next institution the same way. Most school software talks only about the first half, if it talks about DigiLocker at all.
The short versionOn 18 September 2026, DigiLocker was named by one of the nine other products — Meritto, as a featured integration alongside Aadhaar authentication. iVake publishes both directions: document verification through DigiLocker at admission, and digitally issued TCs, bonafide certificates and transcripts sent into the student's DigiLocker. One product names it; one product runs the loop.

"Not published" means we could not find it on that company's own site on 18 September 2026, not that the product cannot do it.
The loop, and why the second half matters more
Verification at admission saves the office a day of squinting at uploaded marksheets. But the bigger win is the outbound half, because a document you issue once is checked many times: by the next school, by the university, by a scholarship body, by a visa office. If your TC or transcript lands in the student's DigiLocker with a QR code, every one of those checks is against the original, not against whatever was forwarded.
CBSE already issues migration certificates digitally through DigiLocker from the 2025 exams. The direction of travel is set.
What iVake does with DigiLocker
- Documents pre-verified at admission. The applicant pulls marksheets and certificates from DigiLocker during the form, so the record arrives with the issuer's data, not a retyped version.
- Issued documents sent into DigiLocker. Transfer certificates, bonafide certificates and transcripts are issued digitally with a QR code and pushed to the student's DigiLocker.
- One record through the loop. The same student file that verified the marksheet at entry is the one that issues the TC at exit, so nothing is re-keyed in between.
Where it is not the whole story
- DigiLocker is one step, not a product. If admission verification is all you want, Meritto names DigiLocker alongside Aadhaar and is built specifically for the enrolment floor.
- Issuing into DigiLocker needs the integration set up with your institution's credentials, not just switched on. Ask what the go-live involves.
- A student can refuse DigiLocker. You still need a paper or manual path; the digital route is an addition, not a replacement.
If you do one thingIn the demo, ask to see both directions: a document pulled from DigiLocker during a sample application, and a test TC pushed back into a student's DigiLocker. Most vendors can show the first. The second is the one that separates an integration from a feature.
The inbound half: verification at admission
When a family fills an application form, the marksheet or certificate can arrive in two ways. The old way is an upload: a photograph of a photograph, resized, possibly cropped, that the office then squints at and sometimes asks to be sent again. The DigiLocker way is a pull: the applicant authorises the document to come straight from the issuer, so what lands in the record is the issuer's own data, with its digital signature, not a retyped version.
The saving is real but easy to underestimate. Every document that arrives pre-verified is one fewer document the office has to check against an original later — and one fewer moment where a family is asked to resend something at the last minute. During admission season, those moments are the queue.
The outbound half: what you issue, checked everywhere
The second half matters more, because a document you issue once is checked many times: by the next school, by a university, by a scholarship body, by a visa office. If a transfer certificate or transcript lands in the student's DigiLocker with a verification code and QR check, every one of those checks is against the original. If it is a paper printout in a folder, every check is against whatever was forwarded, and the office issues duplicates.
CBSE already moved this direction for migration certificates from the 2025 exams — issued digitally, in DigiLocker. The direction of travel is set, and it favours the institution whose system pushes documents out into DigiLocker, not just the one that pulls documents in.
Why one of the nine is a thin "yes"
Meritto names DigiLocker as a featured integration, alongside Aadhaar authentication — which is real, and which is exactly the inbound half, on an admissions product. What it does not publish is the outbound half: issuing TCs, bonafide certificates and transcripts into a student's DigiLocker. That is not a criticism of Meritto; it is an admissions product, and issuing documents is downstream of its job. But it is the difference between an integration and a loop, and a school or college lives in the loop.
Frequently asked questions
Can a student refuse to use DigiLocker?
Yes. DigiLocker is a convenience, not a mandate for the student's side of the exchange. Your institution still needs a paper or manual path; the digital route is an addition, not a replacement.
Which documents does iVake issue into DigiLocker?
Transfer certificates, bonafide certificates and transcripts, issued digitally with a verification code and QR check, and pushed into the student's DigiLocker. Dues are checked before a TC is issued.
Does "DigiLocker named" mean the same thing everywhere?
No. One vendor names it as a verification integration beside Aadhaar; that is inbound only. The full loop — verification in, issued documents out — is a different and larger capability, and worth confirming with a live demo in both directions.
