iVake vs Meritto: admissions software or a campus ERP

Most institutions that shortlist these two are really deciding one thing: whether to buy a system for the admission season, or a system for the whole year. The two products answer different questions, and the published facts show it.

Checked against vendor websites on .

iVake publishes this comparison. Everything said about Meritto comes from Meritto's own public pages on the date shown. If a page has changed since, or we have read it wrongly, write to hello@ivake.com and we will correct it.

You have a counselling team chasing enquiries, and you also have a fee counter, an exam cell, a transport in-charge and a registrar who has to file returns. The question is whether one purchase serves all of them, or whether admissions is a separate product with its own login and its own export.

Meritto answers the first part of that. Its homepage headline calls it “The AI Operating System for Student Enrollments”, and the footer names the company NoPaperForms Solutions Limited (meritto.com, checked 18 September 2026). Its published product pages cover enquiry, education CRM, lead nurturing, application forms, merit lists, document verification, post-application engagement, payment and analytics.

The short versionMeritto is admissions and enrolment software, and it says so. A school or college buying it still needs a separate system for attendance, timetable, examinations, report cards, payroll and returns. iVake is one system from the first enquiry to the alumni record, priced per student in rupees.

What Meritto's own site covers, and what it does not

No academics, timetable, attendance or school-examination module appears anywhere in Meritto's published product list (meritto.com, checked 18 September 2026). The pages named “Exam Vendor Integration” and “Result Declaration” are entrance-exam and admissions functions, not school examinations.

Fees are split. “Application / Token Fees Collection” is a line item in the plans, while fee collection for the institution sits in a separate brand, Collexo (meritto.com, checked 18 September 2026). Through Collexo, students can pay by card, UPI, wallet or net banking. The built-in payment connector listed in the plan matrix is Stripe, which is not an Indian gateway.

On compliance, Meritto publishes a page for DEB-compliant admissions for ODL and online programmes under the UGC's Distance Education Bureau. NAAC, NBA, NIRF, UDISE+, APAAR/ABC, Tally and SMS DLT registration were not found on their site (checked 18 September 2026). DigiLocker and Aadhaar authentication are both published as featured integrations.

One more point a principal should know before the demo: Meritto's mobile app page describes a staff and counsellor app, with on-ground teams, call handling, geo-tracking and route planning. A parent app or student app was not found on their site (checked 18 September 2026). There is a web admission portal for applicants.

What the two publish about money

Meritto is unusual in this market because it publishes figures. Its pricing page says pricing is annual and based on institution size, and bands it by number of applications. For fewer than 5,000 applications the three plans are listed at $8,000, $15,000 and $30,000 a year; the bands run up to $55,000 a year above 25,000 applications, with more than 50,000 applications quoted on request (meritto.com/packages-pricing, checked 18 September 2026). Those figures are in US dollars, and the same page caps users at 15, 25 and 50 by plan. No free trial was found on their site (checked 18 September 2026); the call to action is a demo.

iVake publishes its prices in rupees on /pricing: ₹8 per student per month up to 200 students, ₹7 from 201 to 10,000 and ₹5 above that, with GST at 18% extra and one-time onboarding of ₹10,000 covering migration and role-by-role training. Admission management is an add-on at ₹4,999 a month flat. Staff logins, the parent and student app, reports, upgrades and support tickets are never charged extra. The trial is 30 days with no card.

When Meritto is the better choice

If you run a large counselling floor and admissions is the only thing you want software for, Meritto is built for exactly that and nothing is diluted by the rest of a campus. Buy it if your counsellors work on the ground and you want their calls, check-ins and routes in one staff app; if you need Aadhaar authentication during verification, for which Meritto publishes a page; or if you run ODL and online programmes and want the DEB compliance work handled. Its published plan matrix also lists SOC2 Type II, SSO and two-factor authentication (meritto.com/packages-pricing, checked 18 September 2026), and it has a review history behind it that iVake does not.

When iVake fits better, and why

Because admissions and the rest of the year are the same system, not two. The enquiry source, the counsellor's notes and the documents collected at admission stay attached to the same student file through attendance, examinations, the fee ledger, the TC and the alumni directory. Nothing is exported at enrolment, so nobody has to reconcile two spellings of the same name in January.

The second reason is the Indian back office. NAAC and NBA evidence by criterion, CO/PO attainment, AISHE/AICTE and university returns, APAAR/ABC recorded with consent, DigiLocker, a day book that exports to Tally or Zoho Books, DLT-registered SMS and WhatsApp are all part of the same product. None of those were found on Meritto's site on 18 September 2026.

The third is the bill. Prices are in rupees on a public page, with GST and onboarding shown, and nothing is charged per login — a 60-teacher school pays the same as a 6-teacher one. Go-live is about four weeks for a school or a single college, six to eight weeks for a group or a university.

What we cannot tell you

Meritto's implementation timeline and Indian data residency were not found on their site (checked 18 September 2026), so we make no claim either way. The scale figures on their site — “1000+ education institutions” on the homepage, 1,183 customers in their FY26 block and “1,200+ institutions worldwide” in the footer — are Meritto's own claims, not ours, and they appear on the same site at the same time. And iVake has no third-party ratings, awards or review counts. We would rather say that than imply otherwise.

Share your fee structure and programmes before the call, or sample data with student names removed. We set them up, so you see your own institution on screen rather than a demo account.

  • 45 minutes, your data. Not a generic tour of features.
  • Migration mapped on the call. We show exactly where your current records land.
  • A written rollout plan within two working days, with phases, owners and dates.
  • No pressure to switch everything at once. Most schools and colleges start with one department or one intake.
