Top 10 school management software in India for 2026

Ten all-in-one school ERPs, read against their own websites rather than their sales decks. Ranked on the four things that actually decide it in 2026: AI you can trust, a parent app that works, the statutory work an Indian school cannot avoid, and whether anyone will tell you the price.

Checked against vendor websites on .

iVake publishes this page. Facts about other products come from those companies' own public pages on the date shown. If something is wrong or out of date, write to hello@ivake.com and we will correct it.

Every product on this list says it runs your whole school. Open the actual pages and the range is wide: one is admissions software, one now leads with classroom hardware, one is code you host yourself. This ranking is built from what each vendor publishes, on a date we name, so you can check every line.

The short versioniVake ranks first because it is the only one of the ten that publishes all four: AI with a human-approval step, a parent app with one login per family, both UDISE+ and APAAR statutory work, and a rupee price per student. MyClassboard has the widest module shelf, Fedena the clearest flat price, OpenEduCat the most AI tools and a free self-hosted licence. Nobody wins every row, and the last section says where iVake loses.

How this list was built

  • Only the vendor's own website counts. Where a page did not mention something we wrote "not published", not "does not have it" — a company can ship a feature and never write about it.
  • Four ranking criteria, weighted for an Indian school in 2026: AI with an approval step, the parent app, UDISE+ and APAAR, and a published price.
  • Scale claims stay claims. Where a vendor says it serves tens of thousands of schools, that is their figure on their page, not something we checked.
  • Software directories left out. Their price fields are entered into the directory, not published by the vendor, and several contradict each other.
  • Entab CampusCare is excluded. On 18 September 2026 entab.in, campuscare.cloud and campuscare.in were all unreachable from our network, so we opened no page of their site and would rather leave a well-known product out than describe it from memory.

"Not published" means we could not find it on that company's own site on 18 September 2026. It is not a statement that the product cannot do it. The rank order is ours, from the four criteria above; the cell contents are each vendor's own published position.

1. iVake — the only one that publishes all four

iVake covers Nursery to Class 12 on one student record: admissions, fees, attendance, timetable and substitutions, report cards and the Holistic Progress Card, TCs and certificates, the parent app, and school transport. The AI helpers sit in admissions, teaching and insights — and every one of them is draft-only, which is the part no competitor publishes. A course plan or quiz reaches students only when a teacher publishes it; the grading assistant drafts feedback per rubric criterion and never assigns or suggests a mark.

On statutory work it is the only product here that publishes both UDISE+ and APAAR coverage. That does not mean it files for you — entry and certification stay on the government portals — but the record you copy from is built for the portal's fields, with APAAR consent recorded as a first-class decision and leavers marked when the TC is issued. The price is public: ₹8 per student per month to 200 students, ₹7 to 10,000, ₹5 above that, with staff logins and the parent app never charged extra.

2. MyClassboard — the widest module shelf

Around seventy modules, transport, hostel, canteen, payroll, a franchise module for multi-branch groups, twelve payment gateways and Tally. On AI it names Examcell question papers, AI attendance, and VED AI for teachers on a separate site. If breadth of operational modules is your brief — especially for a group of branches — this is the one to read. No price is published, and neither UDISE+ nor APAAR appears.

3. Fedena — the clearest price

Three annual plans in rupees plus GST, unlimited users, free cloud hosting, automatic updates, and a 14-day trial with no card. Sixty-one modules covering admission, attendance, examination, gradebook, timetable and fees properly, with placement and alumni as add-ons. It publishes no AI module at all, which for a school wanting a plain system at a known price may be exactly right. For a large roll, its flat plate is cheaper than any per-student rate.

4. Vidyalaya — Indian back-office plumbing

Tally, WhatsApp, biometrics, CBSE and Gujarat board gradebooks, and twelve AI-named modules including timetable and lesson-plan generators. No published price, and its NAAC and ABC material sits in blog posts rather than product pages — a blog post is not a module.

5. Skolaro — reporting named up front

Its fee page names UPI directly, and its college page is the only competitor page naming AICTE, UGC and NAAC reporting. Platform-level AI surfaces overdue fees, attendance dips and admission bottlenecks. For a school it covers the daily ground well; no price is published.

6. OpenEduCat — free, if you have engineers

Open source under LGPL-3.0, with a Community edition you self-host at no licence cost. It publishes the largest AI count of anyone here — 91 tools plus 9 platform features, by their own count — with the institution paying its own model-API usage. Their own edition comparison is straight that servers, upgrades, backups, security and support then belong to you. The mobile apps are priced separately.

7. Classe365 — priced in dollars

A core module at $100 a month for the smallest band, with every add-on — enrolment CRM, LMS, fees, finance, alumni, degree audit, AI — at $75 a month each. Nothing India-specific appears on their site, so UPI, Tally and statutory work would sit outside the product.

8. Edunext — schools, and only schools

No college positioning at all, which is a virtue if you run a school. One AI feature is named: AI-based exam proctoring. No price anywhere, and the product list runs past ERP into website design and SEO work.

9. Teachmint — now a hardware company first

The site leads with an interactive flat panel and an AI teaching assistant, sold through dealers with an on-site warranty. Its own page headed "What Happened to the Fee Management System?" says the standalone fee module has gone, and several older ERP pages linked from its menu returned server errors. The EduAI suite is real; for administration, confirm current scope with them directly.

10. Meritto — excellent, but not a school ERP

Ranked last here only because it is answering a different question. Meritto is admissions software end to end, with AI voice and coaching agents, a published price list and DigiLocker with Aadhaar authentication. There is no timetable, attendance or examination page in its navigation, and its mobile app is a field and counsellor app. For a large counselling floor it is a strong product; a school still needs a second system for everything after enrolment.

Where iVake is not the right choice

  • A large school may pay less elsewhere. At 3,000 students, Fedena's flat ₹1,00,000 a year with unlimited users is lower than iVake's per-student rate. The products do not cover the same ground, but the arithmetic is the arithmetic.
  • You want to host and modify the software yourself. iVake is not open source and has no on-premise product; private hosting is quoted for groups. If self-hosting is the requirement, OpenEduCat's Community edition is the honest answer.
  • You want the widest AI toolkit or the widest module shelf. OpenEduCat publishes far more named AI tools; MyClassboard publishes more operational modules.
  • You need years of independent reviews today. iVake has no third-party ratings, awards or review counts. It is new under this name — it was MyLeading Campus — and several products here have review bases we cannot match.

If you do one thingTake this table into the next demo and ask the vendor to fill in their own row, live, from their own site. The criteria where they say "we can build that" are the criteria you will pay for twice.

Frequently asked questions

Which school management software is best in India in 2026?

On the evidence the vendors publish, iVake ranks first: it is the only one of the ten with AI that stays draft-only, a parent app with one login per family, both UDISE+ and APAAR coverage, and a published rupee price. MyClassboard leads on module breadth, Fedena on flat pricing, and OpenEduCat on AI tool count and a free self-hosted licence.

Why is Entab CampusCare not in this list?

On 18 September 2026 their website was unreachable from our network and the Internet Archive was serving an offline notice, so we could not open a single page of their own site. We would rather exclude a well-known product than describe it from memory. If you work at Entab, write to us and we will try again.

Does AI in school software actually save time?

It does when it removes a queue — answering enquiries after hours, drafting circulars, a first pass at quizzes, and flagging slipping attendance. The test is not the tool count but whether a human approves before anything reaches a parent. Our longer note is at top AI school management systems.
