Best school management software in India
A school's software is not decided by the longest feature list. It is decided by four things: does it hold Nursery to Class 12 on one record, does it give parents a working app, does it handle the board and the government's paperwork, and does anyone publish a price. Here is the field, checked against their own sites.
Checked against vendor websites on .
iVake publishes this page. Facts about other products come from those companies' own public pages on the date shown. Corrections to hello@ivake.com.
Every school wants the same four outcomes from its software: fewer queues at the fee counter, no phone calls asking what the homework was, report cards that are right the first time, and a smooth UDISE+ and APAAR season. The products below separate on exactly those four, once you look past the "one platform" headline.
The short versionMost of the nine other products cover attendance, fees and report cards well. The field thins on the Indian statutory work: UDISE+ is named by none of the nine, APAAR by none. iVake covers Nursery to Class 12 on one record, publishes a parent app and a rupee price, and is the only one of the ten that publishes both UDISE+ and APAAR coverage. But it is not the cheapest for a large school, and it is not the only good product — read the table.
How we compared
- Only the vendor's own website counts. Where a page did not mention something we wrote "not published", not "does not have it".
- School-specific, not "education". A product that sells to schools and colleges was judged on its school pages.
- Entab CampusCare is excluded. Their site did not respond on 18 September 2026.
The field, ranked for a school
| Product | Nursery–12 on one record | Parent app | UDISE+ / APAAR | Published price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| iVake | Yes | Yes, one login per family | Both published | ₹8 / ₹7 / ₹5 per student a month |
| MyClassboard | Yes | Yes | Not published | Not published |
| Fedena | Yes | Yes | Not published | ₹50,000–₹1,00,000 a year |
| Vidyalaya | Yes | Yes | Not published | Not published |
| Skolaro | Yes | Yes | Not published | Not published |
| Edunext | Yes, schools only | Not published | Not published | Not published |
| OpenEduCat | Yes | Yes, paid app | Not published | USD per module a year |
| Teachmint | Partly; fee module retired | Panel-led now | Not published | Not published |
| Meritto | Admissions only | Counsellor app, not a parent app | Not published | $8,000–$55,000 a year |
| Classe365 | Yes | Not published | Not published | $100 a month core |
"Not published" means we could not find it on that company's own site on 18 September 2026. Two rows deserve a note: Teachmint's site now leads with classroom panels and says its fee module was retired; Meritto is admissions software, not a full school system.
What settles it for a school
- The parent app is the product parents see. Attendance, homework, results, fees and circulars in one login for every child in the family. Ask to see it, not a slide of it.
- Board exams now come in two attempts. Class 10 results sit side by side with the one that counts marked. If the software cannot hold that, the exam office rebuilds it in a spreadsheet.
- UDISE+ and APAAR are annual work. If the record you copy from is clean, the portal is copying. If it is not, it is detective work.
Where iVake is not the right school's choice
- A large school may pay less elsewhere. Fedena's flat ₹1,00,000 a year with unlimited users beats a per-student rate once the roll is large enough. Do the arithmetic.
- You want the widest module shelf. MyClassboard publishes around seventy modules and a franchise module for groups; if breadth is the brief, read their page.
- You have engineers. OpenEduCat's Community edition is free to self-host. iVake is not open source.
If you do one thingTake the table into the demo and ask the vendor to show one child's record end to end — admission, a fee receipt, one report card, and their UDISE+ and APAAR status. The stages they skip are the stages you will run by hand.

A week in a school, mapped to modules
The best way to judge school software is to walk a single week through it, because that is where the difference between a brochure and a product shows up.
- Monday, 7:50 am. A teacher calls in sick. The substitute sees the changed period on her phone, and the attendance register for that period knows a substitute taught it.
- Monday, 10:30 am. A parent is at the office for a transfer certificate. The system checks dues, issues the TC digitally, and marks the student as leaving — which is what keeps the next school's UDISE+ import clean.
- Wednesday. Fee reminders go out to the families whose instalment is due, in the language they chose, with the parent app showing the balance in one login for every child in the family.
- Friday. Report cards are generated from term marks and dated teacher observations, ready for the Holistic Progress Card format the board expects.
- Saturday. The office runs the UDISE+ comparison export — names, dates of birth, class and section — and finds the mismatches before certification, not during it.
A product that handles all five of those on one record is doing the school's actual week. A product that handles attendance and fees but not the TC, or the report card but not UDISE+, is leaving a seam — and the office fills that seam with a spreadsheet and a shared drive.
Board exams now come in two attempts
CBSE's first two-exam Class 10 cycle ran in 2026, and the consequence for school software is concrete: a student can sit the board exam twice, and the school has to hold two results side by side with the one that counts marked. If the software stores a single "board result" field, the exam office rebuilds the second attempt by hand — and gets it wrong exactly once, in front of a parent. A product built for Indian schools treats the two attempts as first-class data from the start. Our note on what the first cycle taught is at two board exams a year.
The parent app is the product parents see
Parents do not see the ERP. They see the app: attendance, homework, results, fees, circulars — in one login, for every child in the family. When that works, the school's front office takes far fewer "what was the homework" and "how much is due" calls. When it does not, the school has bought an expensive internal database and still answers every question by phone. That is why the parent app is a decision criterion on its own, not a bullet point — and why "one login per family, never charged extra" is the wording to look for, because some products price the app separately or per child.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best school ERP in India?
On the evidence the vendors publish, iVake is the only one of the ten that covers Nursery to Class 12 on one record, a parent app, and both UDISE+ and APAAR statutory work, at a published rupee price. MyClassboard offers the widest module shelf, and Fedena a flat price for large schools. The table above sets out the field.
What does iVake charge for a school?
₹8 per student per month up to 200 students, ₹7 from 201 to 10,000, and ₹5 above that, GST extra, with staff logins and the parent app never charged extra. The trial is 30 days with no card.
Does school software handle UDISE+ and APAAR for me?
Entry and certification stay on the government portals, under your school login. What the right software changes is the record you copy from: a clean student master whose names, dates of birth, enrolment and APAAR consent are already right.
